Manure spreading on pasture

Composted feedlot manure is being increasingly used for improving both soil health by adding labile carbon as well as a slow release nutrient source.

Only 11% of the phosphorus fertiliser being applied to sheep pastures is being utilised in product exported off the farm, the remainder accumulates in the soil or lost into surface and ground water runoff.
